    About James Young

As an experienced litigator with over 20 years of practice in the State of Colorado I have tried numerous cases to juries, to the bench, and have participated in adversarial arbitrations.

I have also participated as counsel for both plaintiffs and defendants in a substantial number of mediations. I obtained formal training in mediation from Judy Mares Dixon through the Colorado Bar Association 40 Hour Mediation Training Seminar. I volunteer mediation services through the Jefferson County Mediation Services as well as the Denver County Mediation Services offices.

My civil litigation experience includes representing both plaintiffs and defendants in construction defect, landlord/tenant, contract disputes, real estate non-disclosure litigation, breach of contract, business disputes, personal injury, collections, probate and estate matters, wills and trusts, corporation formation, contract matters, and many other areas.

This experience has taught me the significant impact litigation or other legal matters can have on clients, both financially and emotionally. As such, as your mediator I will strive to resolve your matter expeditiously and cost-effectively.

However, should resolution not be possible and trial becomes necessary, I will be fully prepared and ready to litigate your case.

I attended undergraduate studies at Colorado State University and received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver College of law. I have been an active member of the Colorado Bar Association, and Denver Bar Associate, since 1998.
